I have a long history of giving my time to a wide range of community events including co-ordinating volunteers for the London International Festival of Theatre, helping staff shops for Overgate Hospice and running raffles for numerous community events across the UK. I have also been a Trustee at Fabrica Gallery (UK) for a number of years and have been invited to take part in the selection process for funding and awards for organisations including the Epic Awards for Voluntary Arts and the Arts & Humanities Research Council.
At present, I give my free time to two major projects, the Hebden Bridge Film Festival and the Grand Northern Ukulele Festival. These events function as a community interest charity (HBFF) and a volunteer-run nonprofit (GNUF). The inclusion of a wide range of voices normally not heard (or seen) is central to each of the organisations and is one of the many reasons I give my time.
